As a MANAOLA Hawai’i Retail Store Leader, you will become an essential ambassador of the brand
to lead and develop the sales professionals within the MANAOLA ʻohana through inspiring hands-on

You will manage and guide retail staff into building personalized kanaka
kūʻai(client) relationships and ensuring that every kanaka kūʻai interaction reflects the MANAOLA
Lifestyle.

You will strive to identify business opportunities and implement the related actions in
order to ensure the achievement of our store’s ultimate goals. You will be directly accountable to the
Director of Retail Operations for developing business, managing professional sales staff, inventory,
operations and budgets.

 

Job Title: Retail Store Leader

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership
• Cultivate a comprehensive and strategic understanding of the business and its relationship
to all kanaka kūʻai through leadership and development
• Maximize the potential of all product categories carried in the store and utilizing available
support(e.g., supporting store merchandising, training and events)
• Build procedures by which to develop personal, loyal relationships with kanaka kūʻai
• Create a kanaka kūʻai centered etiquette to ensure the highest level of client experience
through identifying client needs and providing genuine service and aloha.
• Speak on behalf of the store through understanding of retail industry and local competitors
to suggest recommendations for improvement and growth
• Lead by example as a MANAOLA Hawai’i ambassador in the local community through
positive representation of the brand in local events and activities.
• Ensure business maximization through efficient sales floor leadership and development.
• Provide consistent and qualitative feedback through on-the-job coaching.

Team Management and Development
• Develop retail staff to ensure kanaka kūʻai interactions reflect the MANAOLA Lifestyle
through genuine aloha and exceptional service.
• Support retail staff with consistent coaching, identifying individual training and
development needs and partnering with retail staff to implement individual action plans.
• Supervise and coach retail staff to develop proficiency in sales operations and, where
possible, managerial skills.
• Efficiently organize retail staff according to business needs and delegation of responsibilities

• Communicate with warehouse/production as needed to meet and excide business goals and

Requirements
• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum Years of Experience: 2+ years of management experience in retail operations
• Understanding of retail landscape including but not limited to inventory control, sales,

• Proficient in POS Platform, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite
• Ability to work MANAOLA events including both on island and off island

WAREHOUSE & STOCK WORKER

Reports To: Inventory Manager

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

● Report to and assist Warehouse Leader in day-to-day operations.
● Assist with delivery and receipt of shipments including verifying shipment quantities,
quality control, and tagging of product.
● Verify quantity and description of received goods with shipping documents.
● Assist in compiling inventory report and lists for review and records.
● Assist in maintaining necessary levels of inventory stock.
● Input inventory data into computer programs for maintaining organized records and
archives.
● Count, sort and shelve stock.
● Assist in packaging and shipping of inventory for retail operations, including store,
ecommerce and pop-ups.
● Report any discrepancies or damage in stocks to the Warehouse Leader.
● Assist in preparation of materials, product and set-up of company projects and
programs.
● Work off-site at company events and retail operations.
● Other duties may be assigned.

 

Skills and Specifications

 

● Able to utilize inventory techniques and to package goods.
● Ability to effectively manage time and meet necessary targets.
● Should possess basic technological knowledge and the ability to operate a PC.

Other Requirement

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the
Stocker to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
● Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently, 50 pounds consistently and over 50 pounds,
with assistance, to place boxes and bins on shelves up to 5’ high.
● Ability to work for an extended period of time – up to 90% of assigned shifts on feet.
● Requires physical balance in walking, stooping, crouching, reaching, bending of body
and lifting of boxes and inventory .
● Requires working indoors in a warehouse and retail operations; and from time-to-time
working on the outside to deliver and pick-up inventory, supplies and other company
needs.

DRIVER / WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT

Job Title: MANAOLA Driver / Warehouse
Assistant

FLSA Status: Non Exempt

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Deliverables:

Driver

  • Drives vehicles for the purpose of transporting orders and materials to designated sites 
  • Load and unload deliveries to proper locations in an efficient manner and independently
  • Load delivery vehicle for the purpose of ensuring that all items and supplies are properly
    secured
  • Maintain various files and records for the purpose of documenting activities, providing
    materials and reliable resource information
  • Following the best practices for safety, both on the road and while loading or unloading a
    truck
  • Perform basic truck maintenance
  • Ability to work flexible hours

 

WAREHOUSE DUTIES

  • Assist Inventory and Project Managers in day-to-day operations.

MANAOLA SALES PROFESSIONAL

For most of our customers and clients, the first interaction with the MANAOLA brand is through retail. Hence, our sales staff is also the face of MANAOLA and must be able to impart our cultural. As part of our sales force, you will be an advocate of the brand, ensuring that every one who enters our stores experiences the MANAOLA lifestyle through service with Aloha. Our sales and brand advocate also may be asked to attend events in the community to represent the brand. Our sales and brand advocate will proactively create connections and reach out to your kanaka kūʻai (customer) in order to achieve individual and team goals.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service with aloha.

• Assess customer needs and provide assistance and information on product features.

• Welcome customers to the store, answer their queries and seek out customers in store.

• Follow and achieve department’s sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.

• Maintain in-stock and presentable condition assigned areas.

• Comply with inventory control systems and procedures.

• Learn the moʻolelo (story) behind each of the MANAOLA original prints and styles and inform customers about the MANAOLA Lifestyle and products.

• Process POS (point of sale) purchases and handle return of merchandise.

• Endeavor to create customer loyalty by engaging with kanaka kūʻai to create loyal consumer connections.

• Team-player oriented, participating in all activities contributing to the overall objectives of the retail operation.

• Learn and master the MANAOLA Lifestyle and product knowledge.

• Act as a MANAOLA ambassador in the local community through proactive representation of the brand in local activities.

• Follow the company policy and procedures.

• Some travel – on a rotating basis with other sales associates – is required to staff company pop-ups that occur in the neighboring islands, on the mainland and/or possibly overseas.

Qualifications

• At least one year work experience as a Retail Sales associate, Sales representative or similar role with a customer service focus.

• High school diploma; certification and/or degree in Marketing or related field a plus.

• Proficiency in English.

• Basic Math skills.

• Familiarity with inventory procedures.

• Solid communication and interpersonal skills.

• Available to work flexible shifts and to attend events as a MANAOLA ambassador.

• Available to travel to staff MANAOLA pop-ups.

HUI LEAD

Job Title: Hui Lead FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Retail Store Manager Prepared By: MANAOLA

 

As a MANAOLA Hui Lead, you will become an essential ambassador of the brand to assist the Retail Store Manager in leading and developing the sales professionals within the Manaola ʻohana through inspiring hands-on management and coaching. You will supervise and work with sales professionals for the purpose of meeting the day-to-day obligations and long term goals of the company. Hui Lead is a role model and assists sales professionals in building personalized kanaka kūʻai (customer) relationships thereby ensuring that every kanaka kūʻai interaction reflects the Manaola Lifestyle. Hui Lead is encouraged to identify merchandising and to develop recommendations leading to the achievement of our store’s ultimate goals. The Hui Lead will be directly accountable to the Retail Sales Manager for supervising professional sales staff and for any assigned tasks, including but not limited to, inventory, operations and accounting.

Responsibilities

 

A. Team Supervision and Development

 

• Is a role model to sales professionals reflecting the Manaola Lifestyle in interactions with kanaka kūʻai through genuine aloha and exceptional service.

• Supervises and, as directed and/or as needed, provides hands-on training to sales professionals to develop proficiency in company operations and procedures.

• Follows through with sales professional to assist him or her in accomplishing job responsibilities and assigned tasks.

• Provides leadership in meeting company productivity, sales and other goals.

• Makes recommendations about the ways in which sales professionals can be motivated and challenged to meet company sales targets.

• Fosters a positive work environment to empower, encourage and motivate staff.

 

B. Lead Responsibilities

 

• Gains a comprehensive understanding of the business and its reliance on a positive relationship to all kanaka kūʻai. Communicate this understanding to sales staff.

• Recommends procedures by which to develop inter-personal, loyal relationships with kanaka kūʻai. Advance Manaola company’s kanaka kūʻai centered etiquette in store to ensure the highest level of customer experience through service with aloha.

• Leads by example as a MANAOLA Hawaiʻi ambassador in the local community through positive representation of the brand in local events and activities.

• Provides consistent and quality feedback to sales professionals through on-the-job coaching and encouragement.

• Keeps aware of areas needing improvement by sales staff and transmit any recommendation and/or report areas needing attention to retail sales manager.

• Observes trends in sales in all product categories and report observations to the manager with recommendations for store merchandising, training and promotional events.

• When needed, functions as interim manager.

 

C. Operations

 

• Ensures policies, standards and MANAOLA Hawaiʻi procedures are implemented and being followed by sales professionals.

• Drives sales through product knowledge, passionate brand enthusiasm, operational improvements and clearly defined and implemented action plans

• Is proficient in opening and closing and be able to train staff on procedure.

• Keeps track of inventory and store supply needs and reports to manager.

• Follows through on any inventory tasks assigned by store manager.

• Meets with manager as requested and attend other company meetings as required to coordinate operations between the store and the office/warehouse.

• As directed, follows through and supervises merchandise and promotional marketing within Manaola store.

• Ensures sales professionals are following the daily check list of tasks within Manaola store.

• Is proficient in closing at end of retail day.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail and in providing leadership to employees.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience in working independently and within a team structure.

• Knowledge and use of programs for POS transactions.

• High School diploma. Associates or Bachelors Degree in business, fashion industry or a related discipline a plus.

• Japanese and/or Hawaiian speaking a plus.

Work Commitment

This position requires working a minimum of five days in all shifts totaling at least a 30-hour/week at the Manaola Store, including weekends and evenings. Along with the retail store manager, the Hui Leads are responsible for closing each night on a scheduled basis.
